Like any other food business, baking bread and selling it involves plenty of factors to consider. Before indulging into this career you must start from the basic. The basic of dough making, baking and experimenting different kinds of bread products. We will simply spell it T.I.N.A.P.A.Y., an abbreviation you may first read here, yet very much descriptive of its true meaning.

T- Traditional Business. Since early age as far as our forefathers’ eras and beyond, bread as a daily meal is a income generating business for individuals, family and even corporations can depend on. It can be pass from generations to their children as home business differently from employment as well services. A business present around barrios to cities. Bakeshop, bakeries, retailers and distributors produce breads and pastries that suit the needs of the people.

I- Investment, investing and income. It requires careful feasibility study of the possible pros and cons of the business.  You invest and of course you expect result, and that is the fruit of your labor — Income! Earnings come in several ways and strategy. You buy raw materials, make the most out of it, making quality bread products then sell. You can be a retailer or distributor, you can be a proprietor or you can be an employee. The most important thing, its a reward of the amount of investment and time you spend on it.

N- New Skills, New Knowledge and New Ventures. – We taught the basic, but it is only the first step. Your hunger for knowledge always drive you to practice and improve your craft. It’t like a driving that every moment you must adjust and learn from different situations. There’s no such thing “I’m an expert and I don’t need you!”  You must be a half-filled bottle of water and more space for new drops of ideas. Continue to grow… continue to nurture and ever don’t stop!

A- Art of Bread Making, Creativity, Consistency, Quality and Perfection. These are important key-points you must take into consideration when indulging in this career.  There’s no short-cuts, from day one always choose quality over quantity. It’s your work after all — your passion, your heart, your pride and creativeness are your secret ingredients.

P – Productivity. Practice and Study. As you transform raw materials, like flour, sugar and other basic ingredients you produce it into something you and consumers patronize. You’re not making bread just to display or always as baked test to your neighbors and friends for free. First it’s alright, but along the way as you decide to make money out of it, production and perfection need constant practice. Study to make it fast and efficient, study to improve the taste or maintain if its good not sacrificing the cost of affordability.

A – Always Fresh, Always New, Always the Best. Commonly in food business, it’s an over used “shocking” phrase you’ll always here — “Bago ba yan!” Even repacked bread items in groceries, supermarkets or delicacies and pastries, people are expecting the newest of the new. Checking expiration date.  Fresh from the oven, you’ll hear, “mainit ba yan?”  Baking Business requires lots of patience. Its not for the touchy (pikon) specially in selling or marketing.

Y – You. Your Personal Touch and Management. Since this is business, we maintain continuity of income flow. In many circumstances, the emergence of competition  or down fall of your business, were the cause of your carelessness and mismanagement. You can trust anybody but consider the many ifs and buts even to your most trusted person when doing so. Your presence is always needed. “Huwag mong ipaubaya sa iyong panadero o frontliners!” Hands-on approach always! You function too as the Quality Controller of your product. You supervise everything from the basic mixture of ingredients, the strategies as well as the financial management. It’s your lose or gain, if a small wrong turns out into big disappointment.

With all these “ingredients” in mind for sure your T.I.N.A.P.A.Y. will lead you to success. The good thing about it, we’re here in EM&M Bakeshop to teach you getting ready achieving these. There’s no secret, within the secret. No more trials, no more errors… all correct!
